Not every TV show creates a major impact among the people and only a few of them earn such a credit from the masses and the Angel TV show is one among them. Most of you out there must know about the popular show ‘Buffy – the vampire slayer’. Angel is nothing but the extension of this series and the same director Joss Whedon directed both of them and also the co- story writer David Greenwalt accompanied in both the occasions. Though Angel had many striking resemblances with Buffy the vampire slayer, both of them cannot be compared on the same grounds because the latter was a bit more matured and interesting than its parent serial.
The first telecast of this show was on the 5th of October in the year 1999 and do not be surprised, the show successfully ran for five years till it was the grand finale on the 19th of May 2004. The show was telecasted in a number a seasons and the first season was itself better than all the four seasons of Buffy the vampire slayer. This would depict exactly the welcome it had from the audiences but the hype was not maintained and the show went on to fade a bit in the coming seasons.
Angel – the plot
The bottom line and the general theme of Angel TV show had similarities with that of Buffy the vampire slayer and the story was actually around a vampire called Angel, who had to fight against a number of problems which he faced when he was a private detective agent. Some of the interesting villains of the series were a number of evil spirits along with a few demons and sometimes angel himself was the villain too where he had to fight with himself. The soul of our hero was punished by the gypsies for the murder of their own clan member and this makes the hero feel guilty for all his evil actions of the past.
Angel – got better and better
We had already talked that Angel was a bit better than Buffy the vampire slayer series because of a number of reasons. The main reason is that Angel was a bit more practical and it covered the childhood or adolescence of the character as well. Also in case of Buffy, most scenes were either dark or too violent and this was not liked by all the audiences. But the Angel on the whole was far more interesting and the story also had a number of characters which were unique and the storyline was also distinct. The main cast of the series included David Boreanaz playing angel and Charisma Carpenter, Glenn and Alexis Denisof playing Chordelia Chase, Doyle and Wesley-Wyndam Price respectively.
